YAY! I was awarded the Liebster Blog award. It's given to bloggers with 200 followers or less by another blogger who enjoys your blog. Here is the link to Amanda's blog, my wonderful bloggy follower and fellow quilter.

I'm swimming in fabric...and projects
But first, a finished top!
Very excited this is done, it's by far the largest quilt top I've done. The colors and fabric choices are thrilling as well. I can't wait to get back to it. In the mean time...
I've been working on bee blocks and planning for bee hosting and my swap.
Here are the two blocks I made for my 99 modern blocks bees.
And here is the fabric for my month in June, "On the Plus Side." I'm going to use sand for the background, the colors (red, denim, peridot and curry) for the pluses and chocolate for sashing.
I also decided on making a New York Beauty block for the Modern She Made Swap. My partner is very agreeable and wasn't opposed to any of my suggestions. Here are the fabrics I chose. Now to choose a block!
Lastly, I need to get cracking on this Yo Gabba Gabba fabric for a present. I just haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet.

WIP, chugging along
Well my Sparkle Punch quilt top is half done. Still loving it.
Unfortunately, I just realized I have a ton of other stuff I have to get done. I'll probably finish this quilt top and then come back to it. I have several Bee blocks to do, a quilt for my goddaughter (her birthday is in a couple of weeks, eek!) and some pillowcases for the guild's charity project.
Not to mention Kona club is next Tuesday at my LQS so I really need to solidify plans for my bee hosting month (June) AND my swap. I just can't pass up the great deal on Kona solids!! I have been really good in terms of fabric buying, I haven't been to my LQS since the last club night in January. I shall feel no guilt!
Have you seen the new Fat Quarterly Shape Workshop book?? It's awesome! I am hoping to use some of the circle blocks for my swap.
I also picked up the new Denyse Schmidt book from the library. Going to peruse tonight, I'll letcha know about that later.

WIP, motivated
2/16 done and loving it! I am super pleased with how this Sparkle Punch Quilt is coming along. Elizabeth Hartman's piecing strategy is brilliant. What I thought was going to be daunting, has been very easy. Piecing together 30 squares (3.5" each) is much more enjoyable than trying to piece together rows of 20 squares. I also love getting to see chunks of the quilt, it's totally motivating me to keep going because I can see how great it's turning out!!
It's also reassuring to see that my color choices look great together. I am really enjoying the mix of prints and solids. Definitely feel my confidence building, I feel I can throw together fabric without it being a part of a collection.
Other than this, I am stalking my Modern She Made partner and coming up with ideas. Very fun.

WIP, more stars
Well I'm back to work on my Starry Punch quilt. I've really put a dent into this quilt. I'm hoping to lay out the top later this week. Here are all the star pieces that I've completed:
And here is the small stack I have left! Yay! Super excited.
Coming up, a Zakka zipper bag, I've been wanting to tackle zippers for a while. Also going to start a couple of gift quilts and hopefully a bean bag chair for the boys.
Lots to think about too...bee hosting in June...retreat in June...QuiltCon...
I'm linking up with Lee.

Modern She Made Swap
I'm super excited, I signed up for a swap. I'm in Bees with both of the moderators and decided to take the plunge.
We are assigned partners and we have to make something they request and to their liking and then mail it to them. The only requirement of the swap is that it has to have a circle in it and since I now know how to applique, circles shouldn't be a problem.
Here is the mosaic I made with my "likes."
The hard part is waiting to see if I get in. Fingers crossed!
