WIP, Mother's Day Gift and a Baby Quilt

Another Wednesday, another week! It's raining today and I was hoping to get some weeding done but alas, I guess it's going to be an inside day.

It's been an interesting week in terms of my quilting endeavors. I made a trip to a few quilt shops over the weekend. I found some Flea Market Fancy and was able to pick up the Quilt Maker 100 Blocks Issue. I concluded the weekend with a trip to my LQS. The owner knows me by name now, thanks to Kona Club and she talked my ear off about Modern Quilting trends. It was super exciting. She is doing her best to lure in more Modern Quilters. She carries all the Kona solids and will be getting the new colors that are due out soon. She also carries A Stitch in Color by Malka Dubrawsky. She let me know that they have Summersville, YAY, and they are going to get Aneela Hooey's new collection in Fall. Great news. Then to top it off she asked me which designers I'd like to see in the shop. I named a few but couldn't think of all of my favs on the spot. So I asked a few of the other MQG ladies and sent her a email. She was very thankful, and just in time for market! I can't wait to see what she picks out!!!!

This week I'm working on a needle case for my mother for Mother's Day. She asked for it a while ago so I bet she won't even remember requesting it. It's from the book "Easy Japanese Quilt Style." So far, all I've done is cut it out. Should be able to whip it up fast though.

This weekend I started a baby quilt for a cousin-in-law. The baby's sex is a surprise so I'm making Malka's Superstar Baby Quilt and using her A Stitch in Color fabric. I love how it's looking so far. It's all cut out and should be a breeze to sew up. I hope she likes it!

Next up, I have to pick a New York Beauty pattern to make a mini out of for the Modern She Made Swap. Then I'll probably be back to the Sparkle Punch quilt.

I'm linking up with Lee!
